Cumbria P4C is 25!

Gosh, it does make me feel old, but Philosophy for Children in Cumbria is 25 years old.

My initial involvement in P4C was back in 1999, when I started my PGCE and was introduced to the approach by the wonderful Chris Rowley. I must admit at the start of my journey I was a little skeptical, but now find myself adopting t

he approach in almost everything I do, whether it is a dinner time conversation with the family, questioning my own beliefs and values or as today an outdoor activity session with pupils from a school near Blackburn. I LOVE the approach!

So many wonderful partnerships have formed from relationships that have been there since the start and I am particularly excited to be working with Jane Yates, also know as Philosopher's backpack on #Philosofuns, but more information to come on this soon! For now, I want to share with you a wonderful collaboration of articles exploring P4C, including articles from Barry Hymer, Chris Rowley, Wil Ord and of course me, it even includes some practical stimuli and information on future opportunities!

I am sure P4C will continue to go from strength to strength and it would would be lovely to hear your stories of P4C too!
